Steve Carell is doing a comedy based on a script by Cars writer Dan Fogelman.
The script was such a hot property earlier this winter that it inspired something of a bidding war, and the price tag is north of $2 million, according to some reports.
“Carell will play a father whose life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children” is how Variety pitched it.
And Ryan Gosling, an amusing guy who doesn’t do comedy, has been brought in to play Carell’s character’s best friend.
